I could pretend that I went into Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai expecting a show that could teach me some things about the world of female pro wrestling, but that would be a lie. This is a show made by a studio that started off making anime porn. The director made one of the most offensive shows of recent memory in Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica. The character designer worked on other shows that turn females into little more than victimized sex objects. I know what I'm getting into, and this is probably going to hurt.

It would be unfair to say that the plot is little more than an excuse to show tits and ass. No, the plot of Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai is little more than an excuse to show tits, ass, crotch, and to have the main character, Sakura, scream in pain as her body is thrown, bent, and generally abused for the audience's enjoyment. For what it's worth, the plot is about Sakura leaving her job as the lead singer of an idol group to join a pro wrestling circuit to get revenge on the woman who defeated her in an amateur vs. professional match. I'd describe some of the finer details, but that would be giving this show too much credit. The plot exists to fill up the time between montages of Sakura screaming in pain, and various shots that barely fall outside the realm of pornography.

Yeah, you get to see a shot from the other side. At close range.

And here's the real kicker, it doesn't even look that good. I realize as a gay man I don't have the best credentials to judge what nice looking anime women look like, but even I can tell when a show is made on the cheap. There are all the normal signs like recycled animation and long pans over still frames, but the biggest sign was a lack of variation in the positions Sakura is put in as she's writhing in pain in the wrestling ring. I'm no expert on wrestling, but I think that there is more than one hold that can put her in so much pain she needs to quit. But, the show uses the same hold over and over again. I don't know if they didn't have the budget to draw her in different positions, but it's a major flaw that independent from the fact this is barely concealed rape porn.

Let's get the obvious out of the way, I fail Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai. And it's not that I hate think that it shouldn't exist. I'm sure a market for shows like this exist, that's why they keep getting made. I doubt the people who get off to this stuff would even call them good. It's just that this is a cheap cash-in off of those people, and yes, even they deserve better than an unimaginitive, lazy, pile of garbage like this.
